The Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce will organise a trade and investment mission to Malaysia, primarily to promote the strengths of the Humber Region as a business partner and to actively seek inward investment and new export opportunities.
The mission is the second of its kind supported by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership, building on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Region and the Malaysian State of Penang in September, 2014.
Malaysia is the 3rd largest economy in South East Asia and is strategically placed between the Indian Ocean and the South China Seas. UK ties with Malaysia are very strong, with the UK being Malaysia’s largest market in Europe and Malaysia being the UK’s second largest market for goods in South East Asia, after Singapore. Malaysia is attempting to achieve high-income status by 2020 and is moving up the value-added production chain.
