Forest Pines, Brigg - 8.30am-11am
As part of our series of “Doing Business in...” seminars, the World Trade Centre Hull & Humber is pleased to invite you to our free to attend “Doing Business in China” seminar on Thursday, 2nd October, 8.30am-11am at Forest Pines Hotel, Brigg.
The Chinese economy has grown at just under 10 per cent a year for 32 years, overtaking Japan in 2010 to become the world’s 2nd largest economy. According to the OECD, China is projected to overtake the US in 2016 (in PPP terms).
While many of the world’s major economies are still struggling to recover from economic contraction, China’s economy still grew by 8.2 per cent in 2012.
Traditionally, China has provided low-cost manufacturing solutions for the global market, but exports declined sharply after the global downturn and China’s manufacturing industry has responded by quickly moving up the value chain.
While the rise of China is easy to acknowledge, businesses constantly need to catch up with the speed and depth of change and development in China’s large and complex market space.

North Sea Offshore Wind (NSOW) is returning to the UK and will take place in and around The Humber Estuary which is poised to become the UK's main offshore wind hub.
Being close to the UK's three largest wind farms and home to the UK's largest port site developments, the Humber is well positioned as the operations and maintenance base for the North Sea offshore industry.
NSOW brings together offshore wind professionals from across the North Sea region to exchange ideas, identify new solutions and build relations.
The focus in 2014 will be around Offshore Wind Operations & Maintenance and the workshop on the 22nd October will have a strong emphasis on this activity.
The event is organised by Team Humber Marine Alliance, Wind Cluster Norway, Enterprise Europe and Targeting Innovation.
