Energy Summit showcases WTC Malmö as world’s most energy efficient glass building

Building on the prominence of WTC Malmö as the world’s most energy efficient glass building, an “Energy Summit” was held September 23-24 to spread the WTC Malmö story. The event was organized by Anders Berner, WTCA coordinator for Northern Europe, in cooperation with WTC Malmö and the City of Malmö. WTCs in Europe were invited to bring interested business and government officials from their respective regions to the Summit, and an audience of about 60 was assembled through the efforts of WTCs in Bucharest, Lille, Metz, Nice, Modena and Salsomaggiore.

The principal speakers at the conference included Malmö Mayor and WTC Malmö Board Member Ilmar Reepalu, who has made Malmö an environmental example for the world. Also, several energy specialists described the innovative technologies involved in the WTC’s design and operation.

As a follow-up to the event, the companies involved in creating the special energy-efficient features of the WTC will participate in a European tour of WTCs to inform local audiences about their work at WTC Malmö and participate in matchmaking sessions.
