Hull solicitor named as one of World's leading shipping lawyers in 'Who's Who' directory
Hull-based law firm Andrew Jackson announces that solicitor Silas Taylor has been recommended in the 'International Who's Who of Shipping & Maritime Lawyers 2009' ("Who's Who"), a directory featuring the world's leading legal practitioners.
Silas is the only solicitor in Yorkshire - and one of only two UK solicitors based outside of London - to receive a recommendation in the shipping and maritime edition, which is based on feedback from independent research with both general counsel and private practice lawyers worldwide.
With over 30 years' legal experience, Silas - now a consultant with the firm - has spent his entire career with Andrew Jackson and has played a key role in developing its internationally known shipping and transport department. He is recognised as a leading mediator of shipping disputes and has an international reputation as a marine casualty lawyer and litigator.
Rob Penrose, managing partner at Andrew Jackson, said: 'This is a fantastic achievement. The fact that Silas's peers have nominated him adds even more weight to the recommendation - and is very well deserved'.
